Intrigued by the sparkling clarity and feminine curves of the simple and seemingly fragile glass bulb, as well as the organic fluidity and mysterious quality of clouds, artist Nicholas Ceilten ignites an entire wall of glass bulbs for a captivating display of randomly moving lights and spatial dynamism, and recreates his impression of the silver lining amongst clouds.
The art installation continues beyond the doors onto a ceiling of ethereally glowing cloud of lights; transporting the viewer from the hustle & bustle of city life into the calm serenity of The Sloane Clinic – a luminous oasis where the mundane and ordinary ends, where dreams starts and pure beauty shines.
Feel free to defy all notions of beauty and ageing as you step through these doors. If you think you know how a 30 year old should look or how a 50 year old should age, think again…
When you look up into the wide open skies, you know anything is possible.
About Nicholas Ceilten
Nicholas Ceilten (born in 1971 in Ljubljana) studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. He continued his passion at the New York Studio School in the USA. Since 1998 he is a freelance sculptor and painter. His work is represented in national collections. Nicholas lives and works In Ljubljana.
Artist’s statement: “Over and over again I keep returning to the light. It has always been present and is the source of birth, beauty and life. In between darkness and light there is an abyss of timelessness, a man’s relationship towards his existence and his aspirations.
